Builder’s Edition Conditions
- Builder’s Edition units use the same high-capacity aluminum radiator core and cooling design as our standard performance radiator.
- These units are intended for performance shops, fabricators, engine swaps, FMIC conversions and custom MQB applications where some installation work is expected.
- Minor cosmetic, mounting or fitment variances may be present, including tab location or alignment differences. These do not affect the intended cooling performance of the radiator.
- Depending on the vehicle and installation, the builder may need to relocate, modify or fabricate mounting points for proper fitment.
- The Builder’s Edition is offered at a substantially reduced price to make it an attractive starting point for custom cooling systems and 5-cylinder swap projects.
5-Cylinder Swap Applications
This radiator has been successfully tested on multiple 5-cylinder-swapped MQB vehicles using front-mount intercooler configurations. Its increased cooling capacity can allow the factory auxiliary side radiators to become optional in properly configured builds, simplifying coolant plumbing, packaging and fabrication while retaining normal air-conditioning functionality.
It is particularly well suited for builders converting away from the factory intercooler arrangement and developing a simplified high-capacity radiator + front-mount intercooler cooling package.
Important Purchase & Installation Notice
By purchasing a Builder’s Edition radiator, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- Builder/Fabricator Product – This product is supplied as a starting point for performance and custom installations and may require mounting or fitment modifications.
- Final Sale – Builder’s Edition units are sold as-is and are not eligible for returns or exchanges based on cosmetic, mounting or fitment variances disclosed above.
- Installation Responsibility – Professional installation is strongly recommended. The buyer and/or installer assumes responsibility for any fabrication, adjustment or modification required for the intended application.
- Vehicle Compatibility – The radiator is based on the Audi/VW MQB platform. Custom installations, engine swaps and non-standard configurations must be evaluated by the installer for proper fitment and cooling-system integration.
- Application-Specific Results – Cooling requirements vary depending on engine configuration, power level, vehicle use, ambient temperature and installation. Previous successful installations without auxiliary side radiators do not constitute a guarantee that every vehicle or configuration can operate without them.
- Limitation of Liability – Mabotech Labs is not responsible for installation labor, fabrication costs, vehicle modifications, consequential damages or losses resulting from improper installation, incompatible applications or modifications performed by the buyer or installer.
By completing the purchase, the buyer confirms that these conditions have been read, understood and accepted.
